Top UK Fishing Beaches

The top 10 beaches for fishing in the UK are a varied selection around the country. Starting with the east coast, the wonderful beach at Mablethorpe, in Lincolnshire, is a very popular spot with fisherman, and offers excellent conditions and has a record for some fine catches. Further up the east coast you can find several beaches in Northumberland that come highly recommended, in particular the quiet and secluded beaches of Cambois, a small village close to Blyth, which are known for excellent conditions and are a perfect place to perfect your skills.

Clevedon Beach, in Somerset, is also a great place for fishing and ranks among the top ten, so if you are in the area it is worth checking out. On the west coast, the recommended beaches include all of those on the Wirral, a lovely part of the country that is certainly worth the trip. Indeed, the whole of the north-west coast is popular for fishing, and you will find that the catches here are very satisfying.

More Beach Fishing Spots

The UK is home to a handful of islands, each of which offers much scope for fishing. The Isle of Man, bang in the middle of the Irish Sea, is an excellent fishing spot and tends to be quiet and peaceful, while the Isle of Wight, off the south coast, is also a good place to fish for many different types of fish. The Isle of Wight is a great family holiday spot too, so you can take the kids and enjoy your fishing at the same time.

It is fair to say that we are spoilt for choice in these islands as we have coastal areas that are never too far away, and wherever you choose to cast your line you are especially likely to find you have a great time fishing in whatever sea you choose. Take a look at a map of the UK around where you are and check online for great fishing spots, and make sure you have all the right kit. Also, be aware that the tide can come in very quickly in some places, so check tide times carefully before you set out. Meanwhile, happy fishing, pick a great spot – find a beach with a pier for the best places – and enjoy your day!
